Manufacturing

AI systems built on a real manufacturing ERP

A series of connected AI engineering playbooks built on ForgeFlow, a fictional but realistic precision engineering ERP. Each playbook solves a specific business problem using AI - starting from the procurement, production, quality, and sales data ForgeFlow already has, and adding one AI capability at a time.

How it works

One factory, many AI systems

Every playbook in this series starts from ForgeFlow - a fictional but realistic precision engineering business built on ERPNext. ForgeFlow has purchase orders, quality inspections, work orders, and sales orders. It does not have AI.

Each playbook adds one AI capability to ForgeFlow. You learn the technique, see it applied to real ERP data, and end up with architecture you can apply to your own manufacturing or supply chain system.

1
Start with ForgeFlow
A real ERP business with real data. Procurement, production, quality, and sales. No AI yet.
2
Add one AI system
Each playbook builds and explains one capability end-to-end from the existing ERP data.
3
Apply to your business
The same approach works on your data, your ERP, your suppliers and production lines.

Business Value

What AI adds to a manufacturing business

Each playbook adds one measurable AI capability. The same approach applies to any ERP - SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or a custom system - because the underlying data (purchase orders, work orders, quality records) is the same everywhere.

15-30%
Procurement cost reduction
Supplier scorecards based on actual lead time, quality, and on-time delivery data identify which vendors to consolidate - and which to replace.
40-60%
Less unplanned downtime
Production planning assistants that flag material shortages, capacity conflicts, and quality-hold items before a work order starts.
2-3x
Faster procurement decisions
Automated reorder recommendations based on lead time data replace manual ERP report queries with a single scored output.
100%
Supplier quality traceability
Every rejection event traced to a supplier, a batch, and a specification - no more guessing which vendor caused the production hold.
Works with any ERP or manufacturing system

ForgeFlow runs on ERPNext, an open-source Python ERP framework. The AI systems built in this series read from a standard data layer (purchase orders, quality records, work orders) that every major ERP produces.
